Helpful - no road signs. Newmarket is to the right.

The Ely Southern Bypass - massively over budget, but they couldn't find a few quid for a cycle lane.

A couple of hundred metres of shared-use path would keep Cambridge-Newmarket cyclists off the A1304.

Give way paint not renewed in resurfacing work last year, leading to confusing directions that differ for those leaving vs those entering

The new traffic signals to control flow through the railway underpass have no signals to help walkers / cyclists.

Looking at the end of the new pathway from across the road, Anglesey Abbey-side. Somehow an informal uncontrolled crossing is going to be installed here. There's no possible way the refuge is going to be large enough for a bicycle much less ... [more]

Heavy agricultural vehicles - best to keep well out of their way as they could squash you and the driver wouldn't feel a thing.

The obvious route for cyclists in Burwell - a shame it's one-way.

Excessively narrow cycle lane, stupid ending. This is just bad. Mind the car!

All of the cycle lanes in Ely are dangerously narrow - 800mm generally. That pushes cyclists far too close to the kerb and encourages drivers to pass when there is insufficient space.

Many people prefer to join the road to negotiate the roundabout and this bad entrance to the petrol station. Not just die hard roadies either, see this lady in the previous photo #17567 .

Wide circulating lane makes it difficult to predict where traffic is heading.

Widely flared entry and exit arms are difficult and dangerous to cross

Visibility is very poor looking up the A10. People cannot see fast approaching traffic.

Very unpleasant crossing of the A10. The approach arms are wide and flared, making crossing difficult and dangerous. Not much deflection on this roundabout. A more "continental arrangement would make crossing easier and safer. Note th ... [more]

This footway is NOT suitable for shared use. Cyclists should be returned to the carriageway by a protected cycle lane merge like the one shown in #17513

Too much flare on junction mouth makes this an unnecessary hazardous junction - encouraging fast entry and exits by drivers.

Too much width. Widely flared junctions like this increase the length of the danger zone for cyclists. They also encourage drivers to approach at speed, looking to the side rather than in front of them. Reduce down to a single exit la ... [more]

The A10 is very hostile environment for cycling.
