A double row of bollards on the left presumably to ward off footway car storage.

Complete failure of design. Matte grey traffic pole set 0.85m into cycle path. No attempt to mitigate with retroreflectives. Invisible in dark/rain even with front lights when you are following left kerb towards bright station lights. Gave ... [more]

Sula Lightship. Gloucester and Sharpness Canal.

High Orchard Bridge unmetalled Canal Towpath which is made of very rough old railway ballast and it is so uncomfortable to ride a Bicycle here. On the left is a kerb over the drain in the awful unfinished ground work.

High Orchard Bridge. Here the Lifting Bridge has Shared Use Bicycle and Walking over the Canal and Towpath on the Gloucester and Sharpness Canal. The Shared Use Towpath is metalled here but not underneath the bridge.

Llanthony Secunda Priory Bicycle Parking. Llanthony Secunda Priory is in Gloucester. The original Llanthony Priory is the Black Mountains in Monmouthshire. Gerald of Wales is associated with Gloucester.

Llanthony Bridge in Gloucester Docks. Bicycles and Walkers mostly cross the lifting bridge deck, with the odd Taxi and very rare Bus.

Llanthony Road and Llanthony Bridge in Gloucester Docks. Mostly used by Bicycles and Foot, seldom used by Taxi or rare by Bus.

Llanthony Bridge in Gloucester Docks. There is mostly Bicycles and Walking on the deck of the lifting bridge crossing over.

Llanthony Bridge over the Gloucester and Sharpness Canal in Gloucester Docks. The Bridge only allows for Bicycles, Walking, Buses and Taxis.

cycle bridge with separate footway

A minimalist crossing put in for the Cardonald Quietway. Basically a patch of asphalt on the central reservation. Slightly diagonal too.

Signage for the Cardonald Quietway on the right-hand side of Linthaugh Road, but not very easy to read from the left-hand carriageway (which, since the footway is not shared-use, is where approaching cyclists should be). Quite frankly, t ... [more]

A Fire Path road closure without any provision for cycling, even though the road behind the camera leads to the National Cycle Network.

A simple and unobstructed crossing at Morton Avenue.

Routes NCN7 and NCN75 have been restored to the direct route at Hawkhead Hospital after a diversion lasting several years.

Route signage on route NCN7 and NCN75 together should not have brackets around the '75'.

The previous barriers have been removed from end of the path to Ben Nevis Road (see #90312).

Tree root damage on the path alongside Ben Nevis Road.

An awkward piece of path at the entrance to the park at the end of Ben Nevis Road. The combination of vertical and horizontal alignment, and the normally closed gate, make this tricky to cycle. It also doesn't seem to be easy for van driver ... [more]

A gate on NCN7 near the park at the end of Ben Nevis Road. Sometimes it is open, sometimes it is shut.

Surface repairs to NCN7 alongside the White Cart Water.

The boundary sign for Renfrewshire on NCN7 alongside the White Cart Water.

No dropped kerb at the end of the path to Langlands Road (which has a 'No Cycling' sign at the other end #112293).

Footway cycling on Langlands Road where the painted cycle lanes are blocked by parked cars.

A very old 'No Cycling' sign at one end of the path to Mallaig Road (seen in #112293).

Car parking in the Langlands Road painted cycle lanes, and an old 'No Cycling' sign at this end of the path to Mallaig Road.

Huntingdon Road - I didn't dare to venture beyond here - as I'd be funnelled through a huge motorway junction in a concrete trough.

Wittgenstein “not deceiving yourself is the hardest thing of all”

The Clyde Tunnel cycle track now has a dropped kerb across the end of it at the Cressy St junction.

Mobikes

Unprotected painted cycle lanes on Clarence Drive, with parking on one side of the road.

I'm not sure what the purpose of this cycle lane is.

The road markings on part of Alderman Road have been renewed, including a buffer strip between the parking bays and the cycle lane, but there's really no point in painting it less than the width of a car away from the kerb.

The shared footway outside the Alison Lea Medical Centre. I don't know who thought that this would be an adequate design.

Harringey Passage - definitely not a cycle route.

Seymour Street How stupid to put this raised table ten metres away from Mill Road! It should be inline with the footway there.

Disguise Ltd, the company moving into the offices would like to encourage as many of their employees to cycle as possible. Their current premises has bike storage nearby, and are hoping that they can retain and even grow the number of employees who cycle to work. Having secure bike storage would hugely influence the number of people who cycle. There are currently around 90 employees who will be moving into the office in January. This will also benefit the new tenants of the apartments.
